To His Excellency Samwel George Bonham, Governor, Commander in Chief, Vice Admiral Plenipotentiary &c, &c, of Her Majesty's Colony of Hongkong.
The Humble Petition of Cheong Choen, alias Cheong Asse, at present a prisoner under sentence of three years imprisonment with hard labour as an accessary to the piracy committed on board the schooner called the "Omega" at Chimmo Bay in the mouth of February, one thousand eight hundred and forty Seven.
Sheweth
That your Petitioner was on the twenty fourth day of January last brought up and tried before the Honorable the Commissioners of the High Court of Admiralty of England, held at Hongkong aforesaid on the said twenty fourth day of January last, charged with having been engaged in the piracy on board the schooner called the "Conego" belonging to Messieurs Jardine Mattison and Company of Hongkong aforesaid.
